An antique brass singhasan — a ceremonial throne traditionally used to seat a deity idol at a home shrine or temple altar. The arched, pierced-work backrest is crowned with facing peacocks, a motif long associated with royal and divine seating in Indian design, while the base is finished with a fringe of hanging brass pendants and raised on turned, bell-shaped feet. Beyond its devotional use, the intricacy of the fretwork makes it a striking sculptural object in its own right.
Given its age, expect natural patina and surface variation consistent with an antique brass object.
