About Cavalry Lane

Cavalry Lane is a design studio and store based in New Delhi, India. We curate hand-knotted carpets, handcrafted furniture, tabletop pieces and antiques, and we design and furnish interiors, from a single room to a complete home.

From the looms of remote villages to workshops across India, we travel to find furniture and carpets made by master artisans using time-honoured techniques. Every piece is chosen to sit easily in a contemporary home while carrying the character of where it was made.

What we make and curate

Carpets. Hand-knotted wool rugs in Heriz, Tabriz, Kashan, Serapi, Sarouk and Oushak designs, with a wool pile on a cotton foundation, alongside a small edit of vintage carpets with natural patina. Every carpet is inspected and filmed before dispatch, so you see the exact piece before it ships.
Furniture. Sofas, beds, consoles, bar cabinets, sideboards and accent chairs, handcrafted in India in solid woods such as mango and acacia, with brass, cane and stone details. Many designs are made to order, with your choice of upholstery and wood polish.
Bar and tabletop. Hand-painted dinnerware and serveware, placemats and table linens, and a silver-plated gifting collection of trays, platters, bowls, diyas and candle stands.
Antiques and art. A small, changing collection of brass and bronze sculpture, devotional objects, antique textiles (pichvai, zardozi, silver pat-work) and Indian paintings, including Jaipur-school miniatures and Nathdwara works.

Interiors

Cavalry Lane also designs interiors and, on occasion, whole houses. Recent New Delhi projects include The House of White Tales, A Cloud of Dreams, The Art House, Peach Haven and The House in 1970. See Interior Projects.
